THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR UGC-NET EXAMINATION IS:-

1) Candidates those secured at least 55% marks (without round off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from recognized institution/university.

This examination has been conducted every year, in the month of June and December. Those candidates who wish to pursue research, the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is available. The Examination will be organized in three different papers, Paper I, II and III. It's mentioned below:

UGC NET PAPER I:

A primary objective paper is to find the abilities of teaching and research in the candidates. In this, it includes comprehension, evaluation, analysis, understanding the structure of arguments and deductive and inductive reasoning. Candidates should have the knowledge of GK and awareness of current events for Paper I. They should aware of the interaction between environment, people, and natural resources and their role in our life.

QUESTION PATTERN:

Paper I is a General Paper, it’s based on Teaching and Research Aptitude and mandatory for all the subjects, the subject code is 00. The UGC NET Examination Paper I contains multiple choice questions. There will be 60 questions, but candidate have to attempt 50 questions. Paper I will carry 100 marks, 2 marks of each question with the time limit of 1 hour 15 minutes.

50 Objective Type Questions {Matching Type, Multiple Choice, True / False, Assertion-Reasoning Type) .Examination carrying 100 marks.

PAPER-III INCLUDES: - PAPER A AND PAPER B

Part A: - It contains 10 short essay type questions (300 words) which carrying 16 marks each. In this exam, there will be one question with multiple choices from every unit (i.e., 10 questions from 10 units. Total marks will be 160).

Part B: - It will be mandatory and there will be one question from each of the Subjects. The candidate will attempt only one question carrying 40 marks. Total marks of Paper-III are 200 marks.
